Line graph of confirmed cases of mumps in England and Wales between 1996 and 2017. Cases of mumps were low from 1996-2002, however began to rise and peaked in 2005 with over 40,000 cases. Smaller peaks also occurred in 2009 (over 7,500 cases) and 2013 (over 4,000 cases).
